Youtuber Desmond ' Etika ' Amofah has been found dead at 29

Desmond Amofah was found dead Monday night in New York City, a popular video game streamer also known as Etika.

The internet personality known for his overzealous responses to announcements by Nintendo and other video games was last heard around 8 p.m. on June 19. A small part of the possessions of the Brooklyn native was found on Manhattan Bridge late that night, including his New York State driver’s license, his cell phone, and a black and red Nintendo Switch.

Initial concerns arose after the same week he posted a video  to his YouTube channel “TR1Iceman.” In the video, Amofah addresses ideas about suicide, mental illness and “betraying those around him” as he walks down the road casually.

At 6:20 p.m. on Monday morning the corpse of Amofah has discovered close the South Street Seaport in the East River. New York Police Department’s official twitter announced he was discovered dead early Tuesday morning, and the tweet presently has over 65,000 retweets.

Following the termination of his original YouTube channel “EWNetwork” last October for multiple site terms of use offenses related to nudity and sexual content, he moved on to make TR1Iceman his main platform that currently has over 135,000 subscribers.

Public and online catastrophes have not stopped there, with the latest being a live-stream altercation with police officers back in April in his Brooklyn residence. Amofah’s death inquiry is underway and a cause has yet to be verified.
