Proton and Al-Haj to establish a plant near Karachi

The plant will be a joint exertion between the Malaysian automotive giant Proton and their local accomplice Al-Haj automotive.

The news was shared by the high official of Malaysia to Pakistan’s Ikram Mohammad Ibrahim, revealed Bernama.

Both Proton and Al-Haj consented to the arrangement a year ago as the Malaysian car giant sees extraordinary potential in the Pakistani and South Asain markets.

Proton is excited to be a part of Pakistan Auto Market and to build an assembly plant near Karachi in collaboration with Al-Haj. This joint effort carries tremendous significance as it will be the first plant in South Asia.

Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is further making a 3-day official visit to Pakistan as invited by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Pakistan Day (23rd March).
