The new Bollywood action movie War starring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, broke many records on its opening day at the box office. The high-octane action drama has seen some incredible earnings on its first day, ranging from ‘best opener in Australia’ to ‘biggest holiday opener in India.’
The movie War box office collections released on October 2, ensured that the film emerged as the highest opening Hindi film not only in India but also in Australia. Helmed by Siddarth Anand, War has surpassed Gully Boy, Bharat, and Kalank by pulling A$ 130,682 on their first day, according to Taran Adarsh, a business analyst, and film critic.

War box office collections have enabled it to become the largest Hindi opener to date, with Rs 53.35 crore collections reported on Day 1. Earlier this record was kept on the domestic box office market by Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan with Rs 52 crore.
Released in 4,000 screens in India on Gandhi Jayanti, War has become India’s largest opener on a national holiday. It is also the largest opener for both Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff, despite being screened in fewer theaters than Thugs of Hindostan.

Additionally, this multilingual film (released in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil) has raked in Rs 51.60 crore alone in Hindi. War’s box office collection for Telugu and Tamil versions collectively was Rs 1.75 crore on its opening day.

War’s Tamil and Telugu versions have taken a hit because of the arrival of Chiranjeevi starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy, according to film experts. The period drama clocked up on its Day 1 in Rs 2.60 crore.
