Pakistan-Japan Friendship Festival in Tokyo till 14th of Aug

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Japan, Imtiaz Ahmad has inaugurated the Pakistan-Japan friendship festival at Ueno Park, Tokyo regarding the celebrations of the Independence Day of Pakistan

Mayor of Taito Ward, Yukio Hattori also joined the ambassador in the inauguration ceremony, a press release revealed on Saturday.

During the event, the ambassador highlighted the strength of Japan-Pakistan friendship extended over the course of 67 years, based on mutual respect and dignity.

Imtiaz Ahmed praised the occasion for bringing people from both the countries, together. The festival ensures people from both countries to experience each other’s cultural and traditional values while enjoying delicious food and live concert.

He also praised immigrants of the Pakistani community for organizing a wonderful festival that reveals the color and shades of both countries.

He mentioned efforts of the Pakistani Community to vibrantly promote the image of Pakistan by using the festival as a platform, which had significantly grown bigger with the passage of time, adding values to it.

He assured complete cooperation and support of the Pakistan embassy to the community regarding all initiatives taken for the display of the ‘True Image’ of Pakistan.

A huge number of people from different circles and walks of life attended the opening of the festival and fully enjoyed the live concert and traditional food from both countries. They arranged the stalls to sell and showcase Pakistani and Japanese art, dresses and other items of interest.

Japan and Pakistan always praised friendly relationships in the last 60 years by establishing diplomatic relations in April 1952. The friendly relationship between the two countries is mainly based on economic cooperation. Both started as a trading partner particularly in cotton and textile sectors in the 1950’s.

The festival will continue till the Independence Day of Pakistan.
