Developing low pressure in Arabians Sea to cause a Cyclone formation

A tropical cyclone is expected due to a low-pressure area developing in the East Arabian Sea. At a distance of around 1500 km south of Karachi with 11.7N and 71.0E – latitude and longitude, the system is expected to convert in a cyclone in next 36 hours.

Titled as Vayu, the cyclone is likely to intensify by the evening of 11 June. Heavy rainfall might be witnessed on the multiple areas of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, and Nawabshah from 11 to 14 June. Wind speed may increase to 70 to 100 km/h on the coastal belt of Karachi. Fishermen are advised to avoid deep waters due to the adverse weather conditions as the waves may also go as high as 8 to 10 ft.

As of now, no Pakistani area is under threat, as the cyclone is expected to move in a northwest direction towards Gujrat.
