The latest teaser for The Lion King’s upcoming photorealistic remake doesn’t reveal much about the timeless story changes, but it shows Beyoncé as Nala talking at the very start for two seconds. At last, the lions are talking!
It was just days ago that Bey dressed up in a catsuit for Tina Knowles’ annual Wearable Art Gala in Santa Monica, Calif., with a lion on the front of the ensemble. The event’s theme this year was “A Journey to the Pride Lands,” inspired by The Lion King reboot.
She flexed over Disney and on her own YouTube channel published a fresh teaser. In it, Nala asks Simba emotionally to return home to take his rightful position as the King. It’s not just the speech by Beyoncé that will be in the upcoming Lion King; she’s been working with Elton John to restore the soundtrack. Together with Tim Rice, the two wrote a fresh adaptation song.
In all its CG glory, the teaser demonstrates The Lion King’s universe with an almost shot-by-shot recreation of the original animated movie.
The movie also features Donald Glover, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner, Alfre Woodard, James Earl Jones, and John Oliver.
On July 19, soon after the 25th anniversary of the initial film’s release, Lion King will be released.
