After a hiatus of nearly three years, the Sky is Pink marks Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ return to Bollywood. Directed by Shonali Bose, the film is based on the life of Aisha Chaudhary who, after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13, became a motivational speaker.
Before the release on October 11, the actress talked about Zaira Wasim quitting movies, the biopic of Kalpana Chawla, and her equation with Salman Khan post her exit from Bharat among other topics.
Zaira Wasim, who plays Aisha Chaudhary in The Sky is Pink, announced she will retire from acting in June. Speaking of the same thing, Priyanka says that the decision made by Zaira was her “personal choice,” and nobody has the right to “dictate” what someone should and should not do. She adds that they interacted on different occasions, but not on her choice to quit Bollywood.
Priyanka reveals that she wrapped up the Netflix action fantasy feature that Robert Rodriguez wrote, directed, and produced. She is also preparing for The White Tiger’s film adaptation for Netflix and is also working on a film inspired by her own wedding events.
She also reveals that she is in talks for another American TV show but is unable to disclose information about it and will be producing (but not acting) for American TV in two other TV shows.
After Priyanka stepped down from the Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer, throughout the film’s promotions Salman took several jibes at the actress. In response to Salman’s statement, Priyanka claims to have “always admired Salman,” and that “there’s never an issue with” him.
She also said that she is close to Salman’s sister Arpita Khan, and the actor attended the wedding reception of hers and Nick Jonas.
Priyanka also cleared that she has not been approached by the makers for Don 3 during the 10 years since it released.
