Karachi’s Korangi Crossing and KPT flyover portraying a post-apocalyptic scene for karachiites on Wednesday morning as many people were stuck in traffic for at least four to five hours.
People who use to travel on the mentioned route are advised to choose an alternate way.
The traffic block has occurred because the Korangi Road and EBM Causeway have been closed for traffic after the passage was flooded after heavy monsoon rains in Karachi on Monday and Tuesday. People passing through the EBM Causeway heading to the Korangi Industrial Area are at more chance of difficulties. The Malir River overflowed and the roads were closed for traffic. Many people were stuck on the roads following flooding and had to be rescued.
The EBM causeway, completed by Korangi Industrial Trading Estate, connects the industrial area to Shara e Faisal was submerged after the Malir River overflowed because of monsoon rains. Concerned authorities have already warned the city’s administration of possible urban flooding.

“The road is completely packed,” said a motorist on Shara e Faisal. The situation has been exacerbated as people were driving on the wrong side, he added.
Police, Rangers and traffic police were trying to control the traffic.
