2nd Most Affected Province in Pakistan by COVID-19 has Reopened Restaurants

After receiving approval from the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the Punjab Cabinet Committee for the Eradication of Coronavirus has agreed to reopen restaurants and tourist spots throughout the province, including Murree.

Senior Minister Punjab, Abdul Aleem Khan, chaired the Coronavirus eradication committee meeting which took the decision.

Aleem Khan said the Punjab government would only slowly loosen the restrictions on lockdowns if the public displays responsible behavior.

The meeting also allowed the Punjab Public Service Commission to continue with the pending interviews, thus ensuring the enforcement of all COVID-19 SOPs provided by the provincial government.

Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid learned from the meeting that the Department of Health has disbursed Rs. 11.5 billion to the Department of Primary & Secondary Health Care and the Department of Specialized Health Care to raise efforts against COVID-19. All departments have invested 5 billion rs so far.

Dr. Yasmin further added that Rs. 25 million had been established by the Punjab Ministry of Health at Expo Center Field Hospital in Lahore.

The members of the committee also offered Fateha for Urban Unit’s CEO Khalid Sherdil who embraced martyrdom in the PIA PK-8303 crash on 22 May.
