The recent Monsoon spell is going to intensify within the next 24 hours after a slight interval in few parts of Sindh, including Karachi that received moderate to heavy rainfall in various parts.
In the latest advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department, apart from Karachi, Thatta, Nausheroferoz, Badin, Jamshoro, Kambar Shahdad Kot, Dadu, Sanghar and Larkana districts are also expected to observe moderate to heavy downpours within the next 24 hours.
The warning of urban flooding in the poorly infrastructured city of Karachi was also issued with heavy rainfall expected within the ranges of 50-70mm from 8:00 PM on Thursday till 12:00 PM on Friday.
The on-going monsoon session is the third one for the year 2019 in lower Sindh, including Karachi.
Slight delay and interval in the recent session are caused by unfavourable wind conditions for Karachi. But the system is likely to hit the metropolis tonight, as rich clouds and thunderstorms are formed over Badin and Thatta regions.
Right now, Eastern parts of Sindh Province are experiencing heavy downpours.
Rainfall recorded during last 24 hrs:
North Karachi 55 mm
Jinnah Terminal 42 mm
Landhi, Kemari and Sarjani 32 mm
PAF Faisal Base 27 mm
Nazimabad 26 mm
