Quetta suffers yet again, as the long list of innocent residents who lost their lives in the war against terrorism, was increased by at least 4 in the latest blast. Terrorists targeted City Police Station, near Meezan Chowk at Liaquat Bazar Area, in which over a dozen people were also injured.

Dead and wounded were shifted to Civil Hospital, and security forces cordoned off the area. Concerned authorities have not provided the details and nature of the explosion as yet due to the on-going investigation. However, Inspector General (IG) Police Mohsin Hassan Butt stated that the primary target of the attack was police force. Out of the four deceased, two are policemen, while Station House Officer (SHO) Shafaat Ali of the station is also injured.
The targeted area is said to be one of the busiest areas of the city, and due to the impact of the blast glasses of nearby shops and malls were shattered.

Quetta and its neighboring cities have been targeted quite regularly since a while now by the extremists and despite strict actions against them by the security forces, they manage to scoop out an attack. The terrorist organizations are financially backed by the enemies of the state to sabotage the peace of Pakistan and to halt the pace of our growth.

The under-construction ‘Gawadar Port’ located in Baluchistan province which is believed to be a massive project to give a boost to the local economy, has got many evil eyes on it. The enemies wish to create a negative impression to discourage the increasing trend of foreign investments in the province by spreading the message of terror. Pakistan is also in process of guarding its western borders with Iran and Afghanistan with fences, to minimize the illegal penetration in the country.
