Apple’s iMessage offers end-to-end encryption across devices. You can use a number of iPhones, iPads, and Macs on the same iMessage account, as long as you link with the same authentic Apple ID. whereas, WhatsApp doesn’t provide this facility.

But now, WhatsApp is going to induce a major new update that will finally make it possible to use across multiple phones and devices, at the same time, according to recent leaks.

The latest version of the renowned and top of the line messaging app will transform WhatsApp into a multi-device application that will allow users to experience it simultaneously on their tablets, smartphones, and desktop computers while sending and receiving messages and calls.

WhatsApp accounts have been linked to a single phone number, which bound it to be a standalone app on a single device, yet. This meant using WhatsApp on computers would require users to connect it to the original device’s account through WhatsApp Web option.

The upcoming upgrade will enrich WhatsApp in such a way that it would work in a similar way to other apps like Facebook and Instagram, where users can use the same login details across devices, download standalone versions of the app on any and all of their devices and have messages sync between them all.

The upcoming WhatsApp update was leaked by WaBetaInfo, who claims the new capabilities are currently under development.

The source site explained how the new system would sync the apps with a variety of devices so that the latest messages appear on every version of the app, while security is also taken into consideration with this new update.

“With the new system, WhatsApp is also improving their end-to-end encryption, because probably something needs to be changed, (as) the messages must be sent to more devices,” the site explained.

“Note that this is also the reason why WhatsApp for iPad was not released yet, even though it’s ready,” it added.

The accurate release date for the latest update is not confirmed yet and is expected to be launch in the following month or little later.
