The latest film release Judgemental Hai Kya starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao opened up to average figures at the box office but showed a nice revenue jump on Day 2. The film produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shailesh R Singh is a psychological black comedy under the direction of Prakash Kovelamudi. Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures tweeted the film’s box office numbers, stating it grossed INR 13.42 in two days.
Box Office India reported that on Day 2 the film grossed Rs 7 crore net. After earning Rs 4.5 crore on Friday, Saturday’s number increased by about 55 percent and the total earnings of the film in two days are now INR 11.50 crore net. But the growth on Saturday just keeps the movie in the box office race and it would be interesting to see if it will sustain on Monday. Saturday’s 50 percent-plus growth was a nice indication, but the real test will be of how close can Monday numbers get to its Friday numbers.
Kangana plays the character Bobby, who suffers from acute psychosis, after experiencing childhood trauma. Her perception of reality is different, which is why she suspects that her tenant Keshav (Rajkummar Rao) is not actually one who he claims to be. Once she accuses him of killing, a race starts between the two of them to outwit each other. Satish Kaushik, Amyra Dastur, Jimmy Shergill and Amrita Puri are also featured in the movie.
Another release this week, Kriti Sanon and Diljit Dosanjh starrer Arjun Patiala was unable to do much on Saturday as it only grossed 1.50 crore net and took the total of two days to about 2.75 crore net. The first day killed any chances it had and the low numbers on day two was not actually a big surprise.
