With the suggested price increment in the price of petrol by over Rs.9, the Federal Government has accepted a modest increase of Rs.4.26, effective from 1 June.
The latest price for petrol would be Rs.112.68, Rs.126.82 for high-speed diesel, Rs.98.46 for kerosene oil and Rs.88.62 for light diesel.
The fluctuation is said to be the aftermath of global price changes and depreciation of rupee as well. In the initial months, the incumbent government kept the petrol price lower, but since Mar-19, a consistent rise has been observed. With the latest jump, the price has been raised by over 24% as compared to Feb-19’s price.
