Veteran Bollywood actor Tanuja is going to undergo an operation for a condition called diverticulitis, she was hospitalized on Wednesday. Tanuja, 75, has been admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in the city.
Tanuja was recently seen in the movies like Pitruroon, A Death in the Gunj, Aarambh and Sonar Pahar. The daughter of Tanuja, Kajol, whose father-in-law and action director Veeru Devgan died two days ago, was photographed visiting her mother.
Tanuja is a popular actor from Bollywood (who also worked in a few Bengali movies) and comes from a prominent family of films. She is the daughter of actor Shobhna Samarth and producer Kumarsen Samarth. She was married to filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee, but before his death in 2008, the two had separated ways.
She’s late actor Nutan’s sister and filmmaker Ayan Mukerji’s aunt. Her most popular Hindi movies are Jewel Thief, Haathi Mere Saathi, Do Chore, Izzat, Prem Rog, Death In the Gunj and many more. Shonar Pahar, Andha Bichar, Anubhav, and others are among her well-known Bengali films.
Last November, Tanuja was also admitted to the hospital when she complained about her problem with breathing.
