Since in the current circumstances it is not possible to administer the entrance test, this year the Institute of Business Administration has introduced an alternative objective criterion for the assessment of admission applications for MBA admissions.
The updated process involves shortlisting candidates based on the candidate’s prior academic credential, duration and standard of work experience/internships, co-curricular activities, and personal statement. The applicants will be shortlisted to the final interviews based on these criteria.
While announcing these policy changes, IBA Executive Director Dr. S Akbar Zaidi said those changes were made to adhere to government-issued public health and safety guidelines and to the well-being of all prospective candidates.
Consequently, revising the admission process by replacing the admission test with an alternative objective evaluation criterion to determine the profiles of applicants and shortlisting them for the final interviews prevents the students from being at risk.
He further claimed that the IBA is aware of the difficulties and challenges faced by the students whose academic futures have been jeopardized by this pandemic and vowed that the IBA will continue to make it as easy as possible for the students without compromising on the merit and standard of the intake.
“We are continuously monitoring the situation and will continue to create flexibility in the admission process, as and when required”, he added.
