Tech companies across the globe are playing their part against the COVID-19 epidemic and Apple is now also joining in. The tech giant headquartered in Cupertino has announced it will manufacture 1 million face shields for doctors per week.
In addition, company CEO Tim Cook also announced that their supply chains have managed to procure over 20 million masks. Apple has initiated a company-wide initiative where engineers, designers, and organizational and packaging teams collaborate with suppliers to manufacture and deliver face shields to medical personnel.

The executive said 100 of these face shields could be packed into a box and installed in just two minutes. We make sure the face shields hit areas where most need it. They shipped their first shipment to Kaiser hospital facilities in Santa Clara, and the doctors ‘feedback was very positive.
They work closely with medical practitioners and experts to learn where such products are desperately needed. Apple plans to ship one million face shields by the end of this week and is expected to deliver one million face shields a week later.
