KIA to sell ‘Picanto’ with price around 20 Lac, following steps of Big-3

KIA Lucky Motors  Pakistan, a subsidiary of South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Motors, has revealed the much-awaited and locally-manufactured 2nd generation of KIA Picanto in Pakistan on 14th September 2019.

KIA Picanto, the first car of the KIA motors in the hatchback category, will be available in two variants, Manual and Automatic. The upcoming car powered by 1,000cc engine displacement mated with a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Picanto shares platform with Hyundai i10 and as far as its fuel economy is concerned, NEDC promised it up to 23 km/liter.

The 2nd generation KIA Picanto has a signature compact tiger-nose radiator grille at the front and comes with 14 inches alloy rims. The hatchback also features power steering, power windows (front), entertainment system and analog climate control.

The company has already introduced ‘MPV Grand Carnival’ and ‘Sportage’ in Pakistan.

It is difficult for the company to outperform in the hatchback market with such huge prices. Customers will definitely give priority while choosing between KIA and the alternate options in the form of already existing Suzuki Cultus and Toyota Vitz.

It could win the competition by offering aggressive price of around 12 to 13 Lac, damaging the monopoly of Big-3 (Toyota, Honda & Suzuki).
