The bureau has decided to give the Opposition Leader of the National Assembly more tough time, and frozen assets of him made by unfair sources of income might be seized. Shehbaz Sharif has also recently been accused by a British newspaper for laundering funds given as aid by the British government for earthquake victims of Pakistan.

The report accuses Shehbaz Sharif (while holding a public office as Chief Minister of Punjab) reshuffled funds received from the UK and which were eventually received in Pakistan and were shown as investments in Sharif’s owned business. The report also mentioned the unconventional growth of the assets of the family during their rule. It stated that the family was worth just £150,000 in 2003 but by 2018 their total assets had grown to about £200 million.
