ANP’s Sartaj Khan shot dead in Peshawar

District President of Awami National Party (ANP) Sartaj Khan was shot dead in Gulbahar area of Peshawar on Saturday. Unidentified armed men targeted his vehicle with 30 – bore pistol. Unfortunate, he could not survive that attack and passed away on the spot.

He was taken immediately taken to Lady Reading Hospital where the hospital representative said that he was brought dead. He had wound on his chest and face and the body was then sent for post mortem.
The parliamentary leader of the party Sardar Hussain Babak strongly condemned the sad incident and said that “We are being targeted again and again,”. He added that it is an irrecoverable loss that party has suffered. Chief Minister of KPK also expressed his grief and ordered for immediate action against the involved.

Khan was elected from Akhunabad area of the provincial capital. He had also served as the general secretary of the ANP’s city district and had been elected as the president for Peshawar in the recent intra-party elections.
