The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced prizes worth $ 10 million for this upcoming highly anticipated Cricket World Cup, 2019. The ICC has made this huge announcement on Friday. The winning team will take home the prestigious trophy along with $ 4 million, the highest prize in the history of Cricket.
The team, which will end up on second place will bag half the amount given to the winning team i.e. $ 2 million. Meanwhile, the losing semi-finalist teams will each get $800,000 and the winner of each league stage match will get a prize of $40,000. The six teams that will pass the League stage will each get $100,000
There will be a total of 48 matches, that will be played in the tournament. At least 32 cameras will be assisting during all those matches, including front and reverse-view stump cameras, eight ultra-motion Hawk-Eye cameras, and the Spidercam.
The much awaited World Cup will commence on 30th of May, 2019 and will be played across eleven different venues over a period of 46 days. The teams will be seen playing against each other in a round-robin format. The opening game will be played at The Oval, London between England and South Africa.
