Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan stated on Tuesday that the US authorities have banned visas for three high-level Pakistani officials.
The sour decision was made due to delays in completion of legal requirements to deport 70 immigrants, illegally residing in the US.
However, the US has not imposed a ban on other Pakistanis as the consular operation is still underway at the American embassy in Islamabad, Qureshi stated.
There is an ongoing discussion between the two states regarding the repatriation issue. The US government is expected to continue the normal consular operations at their embassy in Islamabad, and routine issuance of visas to local applicants will not possibly be affected.
