It seems like Apple intends to launch its latest offerings even before its users lose their excitement over the previous one. To date, the latest gadget in the market is the iPhone 5. And even if many people have not yet saved enough to get one, rumors about its successor is already making waves on the Internet. I guess it would be safe to assume that the next offering will be the iPhone 5s, since it has been the trend since the series began.
I’m sure that you are as eager as I am to know more about the latest details. But for now, these are all we know.

When will it be available?
A lot of gadget analysts expect the release of iPhone 5s (or iPhone 6) by June 2013. But if you are to trace the flow of rumors and news about the progress and developments made by Apple for this new smartphone model, it seems like they will not be releasing the iPhone 5 until after the third quarter. A release in the latter part of the year seems more plausible actually.
But, of course, all of these speculations may still change because of different factors. One of which is the release of other smart phones. For instance, if Samsung will release the Samsung Note 3 earlier this year, Apple may be pressured to hasten its production and marketing plans to prevent Samsung from getting all the attention (and profit) this year.
Upgraded OS?
The iPhone 5s is rumored to have an upgraded operating system. From iOS of iPhone 5, the new version may come with the upgraded operating system—iOS 7. One of the rumored changes in the operating system is having a flatter appearance. Apple may reduce the roundness and bubble like edges of the user interface, just like how Microsoft looks like.
As for the system itself, of course upgrades mean faster processes. See, I connect my smartphone to our office’s RingCentral virtual PBX to receive my business calls in my phone. I also stay connected to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Skype so you can imagine how loaded my phone system is. Upgrades in the OS will surely speed up things significantly.
What’s the Play for Display?
One way or another, there will be a huge improvement in iPhone 5s’ display. The upcoming iPhone will come in a Super JD screen display, as well as a camera. Rumor has it that the Taiwanese supply chain source has developed a “touch on display” panel with a 10 point multi touch. This will come in a thin package of 0.5 mm. Innolux, the producer and developer of the screen, may use a Retina+ Sharp IGZO display in this version of iPhone. So all in all, the display for iPhone 5s will surely raise the standards of smart phone display.

There is not much to watch out for in the camera of the iPhone 5s since Apple will most probably be using the same design for the camera. Only slight changes will be applied to the camera of the Smartphone—that being incorporated to a larger camera as well as a larger flash at the back. Rumors saying that a 13-megapixel camera is on the way may be true but not much evidence supports it so let’s trim our expectations.
For now, these are all we know about the iPhone 5s (or iPhone 6). However, I would recommend that you start saving up because this will surely come with a hefty price tag.
