Prime Minister Imran attended the groundbreaking ceremony of ‘Namal Hospital’ in his native city Mianwali and used to opportunity to warn the corrupt again. He said that the process of accountability will continue without any discrimination.

While giving the example of China, he said that over 400 minsters were sacked and were held accountable over corruption charges in Beijing, which proves that development in Pakistan will not be possible without ending corruption. He further criticized the corrupt mafia for their arguments on the process of accountability and said that the government will make them answerable for their crimes and looter of public funds would not be left at any cost. He added that “I had been waiting for this moment since 22 years of my political struggle to bring to book those who plundered public money,”.

The hospital, situated at 30 kilometers on Talagang Road is financed by Mr. Aneel Musarrat. Musarrat, a UK based Pakistani is the chairman of Rafay Mussarat Hospital, which will be further financing 9 hospital projects in other divisions of Punjab. PM Khan mentioned that the government is not strong enough to revamp all the hospitals in Punjab, and private sector needs to join hands with government to adopt hospitals around the country to bring better health facilities at disposal of the general public. “Under the adopt-a-hospital project, we can bring a significant change in the health sector through a public-private partnership,” he added.

On the occasion, Musarrat said that he was a companion and a fan of the premier since his cricket days and he was much inspired by his initiative of Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital. Musarrat and his family were also awarded by a shield as a token of gratitude by the prime minister for their philanthropic move.
