On 21 May, 3 days before Eid-ul-Fitr, the federal government agreed to announce the wages and pensions of government employees for the current month.
Based on the moon sighting, the government anticipates that Eid-ul-Fitr will be on May 24 or 25, according to a notification released by the Ministry of Finance.
Considering the current situation as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak and the forthcoming Eid, the government has agreed to disburse May’s wages and pensions before Eid holidays begin.
The federal government has ordered the Pakistan Revenue Accountant General, the Military Accountant General and the Chief Account Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure that salaries and pensions are issued on 21 May. According to Rule 217 of the Treasury Rules, if Eid comes within the last 10 days of a month, the salary for that month shall be disbursed in advance to the federal government.
