On Friday, the Pakistan Meteorological Department reported Karachi would be experiencing another heatwave from May 17 to 22.
Through a letter, the department head about the progress from the mayor of Karachi, the governor, the aviation secretary division, and the newspapers.
Chief meteorologist Sardar Sarfaraz told Dawn that daytime city temperatures would rise to 40 to 42 degrees centigrade.
The warning added that the wind direction is “generally turning northwest/west in the evening towards the southwest.”

This was defined by the chief meteorologist as a heatwave of a medium level.
From 5 to 8 May Karachi experienced its first heatwave of 2020.
In 2015, Karachi endured Pakistan ‘s deadliest heatwave in over 50 years.
The coastal city witnessed swelling heat from 19 June that year that continued for more than five days and left more than 1,200 people dead in its wake, and 40,000 suffering from heat and heat exhaustion.
