Thunderstorms to hit Karachi this week

Finally, the Karachiites are about to get some relief from the excruciating heat as the Met office has announced rain forecast in the coming week.

The MET office has stated that rain with dust/thunderstorm is expected in various parts of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Benazirabad, etc. The forecast also includes some parts of Punjab.

Weather in Karachi was quite pleasant during the month of Ramadan, but from late May, it started to rise significantly. Latest Eid holidays were also extremely hot and humid and the beach was the only resort for people to enjoy the long holidays.

The current forecast is a sign of respite for the people as this weather change was much anticipated.

Low pressure has formed in the Arabian sea near Indian Maharashtra state. The low is expected to move in NNW direction and strengthen into a cyclone. Under its influence heavy to very heavy rain is expected in Karachi, Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, etc.

The movement of the storm is in its infancy. The chances for a direct hit on Friday Saturday and Sunday is 35%
