Karachi – Non-Monsoonal Rainfalls likely to start from Tomorrow

Karachi rarely observes rainfall during October and even during the end of September. But this year, there exists a rich probability of strong cloud developments in October after almost a decade.

Under the influence of Western Disturbance, Karachi is going to observe moderate to heavy downpours from October 3 to 5.

Few parts of the metropolis will experience overnight downpours tomorrow. Heavy Downpours with isolated thunderstorms will hit the city on Friday or Saturday.

Few areas will also experience hailstorms and lightning strikes.

Monsoon session has ceased for Karachi. The upcoming spell session is the result of western disturbance which is approaching right after the end of prolonged monsoon. Such a close approach and intersection are going to reward metropolis with historical rainfalls.

The previous record of rainfalls for Karachi in October is:

1) 2004: 39.4mm (Cyclone Onil)
2) 1998: 26.0mm (Western Disturbance+Tropical Cyclone)
3) 1997: 11.0mm (Western Disturbance)
4) 1999: 5.0mm (Anonymous Cyclone)
