Three timed former PM returns to Kot Lakhpat Jail

On May 3, Supreme Court rejected the review petition filed by Khawaja Haris, counsel for Nawaz Sharif, for extension in bail for six weeks. Another request to travel abroad on medical grounds filed by the legal team was also rejected. The convicted Ex-PM is now headed back to Kot Lakhpat Jail, Lahore as the bail expired. Nawaz Sharif was sentenced for seven years by the accountability court in Al-Azizia case.

The PML-N has called to hold a rally to show their support for the convicted. Hamza Shahbaz has openly asked the party workers to gather people as much as they can.
The Home Department of Punjab instructed Sharif to reach the jail by 5 pm, but Rana Sanaullah protested against the instruction, claiming that the bail is valid till midnight. Therefore, the rally will escort Sharif to jail after the first iftar of the country.
