Pepsi Battle of the Bands Season 3 winner Bayaan’s debut album ‘4 Saal’ REVIEW

Pepsi Battle of the Bands Season 3 winner Bayaan’s debut album ‘4 Saal’ REVIEW

Just about a year earlier, in the third season of Pepsi Battle of the Bands, Bayaan emerged as the winning band. There was nothing but high roads for the group from there on.

Of course, Bayaan is not new to the music industry. They were formed in their first season of Nescafe Basement set and later appeared in the Levi’s Live Sessions. However, it was the Pepsi Battle of the Bands in which the group found a bigger audience. They released their EP ‘4 Saal’ earlier this year.

4 Saal proved to be a very promising Bayaan’s debut. Their EP is close to perfection. It provides a powerful nostalgic wave for the fans of the band before their mainstream success as well as for the fans who found them after they became mainstream musicians. 4 Saal includes tracks from the band already released.

The EP’s first track is 4 Saal which is relevant because it is the debut song of the band. It begins as a mellow track and becomes heavier and darker gradually. The song offers a horror movie’s vibes and definitely in a nice manner.

Farda is the second on the list. This is the same song that led the band through the Pepsi Battle of the Bands auditions round. But it’s more than that. Behind this track, there’s a great significance and it’s about finding hope even if you’re not at your best.

Din Dhalay comes next at number three. It’s a very dark song. This song can be regarded ideal for an action or a thriller series or a movie. The creators behind the ARY Digital thriller drama ‘Hania’ made quite an intelligent choice to choose this as their OST. As it perfectly fits in there.

Khel Tamasha is the fourth song on the list. One thing you need to appreciate here is how powerful the band is with their lyrics. Not only Khel Tamasha, but every song on the EP contains amazing lyrics. The song looks like something out of a tale from Ray Bradbury and its music video reflects that and does the song absolute justice.

The last but not the least is the fifth song on the EP, titled ‘Hum Nadaan’. This song is about loving each other and removing hatred from our minds. Hum Nadaan represents a highly poetic tone and it is quite a wise choice to make it a final song for the EP.

There’s nothing about 4 Saal that appears to be less or more, it’s ideal. This is an incredible EP and it’s a must. Bayaan consists of Asfar Hussain on vocals, Shahrukh Aslam on guitars, Muqueet Shahzad on guitars, Haider Abbas on bass, and Mansoor Lashari on drums and percussion.
