Comet Lake processors of Intel’s 10th generation were previously only available to laptops and other handheld devices and now the chipmaker has finally released them for desktop computers as well. The new lineup is still based on the 14 nm Skylake cycle but features a range of improvements from years ago.
Intel 10th Gen Processors – Desktop Versions
The latest 10th generation series contains 32 new processors from the Celeron chips from the bottom tier all the way up to the i9 10900K. Most of these processors, like previous versions, are only variants of a single processor with some having different specifications. K indicates unlocked, T indicates low power variants and F indicates no GPU incorporation, and so forth.
As already mentioned, the i9-10900 K is the flagship model in the series which replaces the previous i9-9900K. It is based on a threaded architecture of 10 core/20, with a base clock of 3.7 GHz and a 5.1 GHz boost. Intel also introduced the Turbo Boost Max which allows one of the cores to make a slight leap to 5.2 GHz if the CPU is below 70C.

You can see the detailed requirements in the photos above and below.
As usual, none of the old motherboards will be compatible with this series because the new LGA-1200 socket with extra pins is needed for these chips. These are not yet available and will probably be announced once a start date is unveiled for these new processors.
