Two people were killed and six were severely injured after the roof of a house collapsed in Lahore’s Samanabad locality on Tuesday morning.
Rescue teams reached the spot upon getting the report of the collapse of a building in the in Samanabad locality and started the rescue operation.
According to the rescue officials, six people, including a seven-year-old girl and two men, have been rescued from the debris.
The deceased were identified as Muhammad Sharif (75) and Riffat Bibi (45). The injured included– Mahnoor (20), Maryam (7), Waqas (30) and Awais (20), Fazal (20), Asma (45), and Shahzaib (20).
As per the neighbors, one woman and two children are still trapped under the debris.
According to the reports, the teams recovered two bodies from the debris. Moreover, a search operation is under way to rescue others trapped in the building.
According to the news source, three families lived in the house on the upper floors of the building, while there were shops on the ground floor.
