An incredible statistic comparing the goal-scoring exploits of Daniel James and Alexis Sanchez in a Manchester United jersey has emerged online this afternoon.

Southampton vs Man United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are currently locked in action with Southampton at St. Mary’s.

The Red Devils came into proceedings hoping for immediate bounce-back performance, having seen their scintillating opening to the new season fall flat over the last two weeks.

On the back of their opening day drubbing of Chelsea, United had since been pegged back to draw with Wolves, before falling to a shock 2-1 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace last time out.

The early exchanges today, though, saw the visitors’ hopes of getting back on track get off to the perfect start.

A flowing move forward with just 10 minutes on the clock saw Scott McTominay pick out Daniel James on the right. The Welsh wide-man went on to cut inside onto the edge of the box, before unleashing an unstoppable drive beyond the despairing Angus Gunn into the top-right corner of the Southampton goal.

And James’ latest finish has since seen an amazing statistic come to the fore across social media.

The 21-year-old has now found the net an impressive 3 times in his first 4 Premier League appearances in a Manchester United jersey, following his arrival from Swansea City over the summer.

And, as outlined below, this also happens to be the same number of league goals that Alexis Sanchez managed for the Red Devils, before his loan departure to Inter Milan was made official earlier this week.

The Chilean’s tally, though, came across 18 months, and 32 appearances. This is a whopping 8 (EIGHT) times as many appearances as James has made for United.Ole Gunnar Solskjær rules out Man United return for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
