PM Imran condemned Indian aggression and called for Trump’s mediation

Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan today on Sunday condemned India’s use of cluster bombs on civilian population living along the Line of Control (LoC) and called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to take notice of Indian action, posing threat to peace and violation of seize fire.

“I condemn India’s attack across LoC on innocent civilians and its use of cluster munitions in violation of international humanitarian law and its own commitments under the 1983 Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons,” said the Imran khan on Twitter. “UNSC must take note of this international threat to peace and security,” he added.

“It is time to end the long night of suffering for the people of occupied Kashmir. They must be allowed to exercise their right to self-determination according to UNSC resolutions. The only road to peace and security in South Asia runs through a peaceful and just settlement of Kashmir,” the Prime Minister further stated.

During Premier’s visit to the United States, President Donald Trump offered for mediation in the Kashmir dispute, which was rejected by India and welcomed by Pakistan, as India always want to deal with Kashmir’s issue with bilateral dialogues with Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran stressed that this was the time to avail mediation.

“President Trump offered to mediate on Kashmir. This is the time to do so as situation deteriorates there and along the LoC with new aggressive actions being taken by Indian occupation forces,” said the premier, warning: “This has the potential to blow up into a regional crisis.”

The Prime Minister’s statements came after India’s ceasefire violations and using Cluster ammunition on the civilian population. Cluster bombs cause an immediate threat to civilians during the conflict by randomly scattering sub bomblets over a wide area.

Most Recently, Using the threats as justification for deploying military in tension amid area, the Indian government stationed thousands of troops and displaying military power along the Himalayan border. Whereas,  Pro-freedom Kashmiri leader and All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman Syed Ali Geelani stated on Twitter and urge the Muslims across the globe to help “save our souls” from “the biggest genocide” India is going to conduct in occupied Kashmir.
