Arsenal stars Mesut Özil and Sead Kolasinac survives an armed attack

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil has been the victim of this afternoon's terrifying attempted car-jacking by a knife-wielding scooter gang on a London street. The gang boxed in the £300,000-a-year midfield ace as he drove his black Mercedes G Class 4x4 in North London. But as the thugs surrounded the car, Sead ' The Tank ' Kolasinac, Ozil's Arsenal teammate and childhood friend, jumped out and bravely took them on. In the meantime, Ozil was able to escape to a nearby restaurant where witnesses said the 30-year-old star looked ' frightened. ' Phone footage caught the squaring of Bosnian Kolasinac to one of the thieves whose face was obscured by a crash helmet. Turkish restaurant "Likya's" waiters and chefs hurried to help the football stars forcing the scooter gang to leave empty handed. During the event, none of the north London club's Premier League stars were harmed and did not require hospital treatment. Financial worker Azuka Alintah, 36, said that Ozil looked absolutely terrified, as anybody would after being chased by robbers with knives. He said that Ozil looked like he was running for his life. He saw him disappear into the restaurant with the motorcycle guys on his tail. They didn't take off their helmets and were all in black, wearing long sleeved tops in this hot weather. He said that Ozil's £100,000 vehicle with distinctive gold trim was left in the middle of the street with the driver's door open. They blocked off the highway after police came as other units were searching for the scooter gang. The brazen attack occurred close to the busy Golders Green Road in North London. After a great pre-season trip in America, Ozil and Kolasinac had just returned to London the day before. Before being permitted to leave, the pair gave their statements to the police. Ozil is the recent high-profile figure targeted by London-based knife-wielding gangs. Comedian Michael McIntyre was compelled by an armed gang to hand over his costly watch.
