Civil Aviation Authority – Pakistan (CAA) has announced to charge the airport tax in local currency instead of charging in USD. The tax from international passengers would be charged accordingly all over the country with immediate effect.
From now on, passengers traveling abroad would have to pay Rs.2,800 (fixed) instead of 20 USD on account of (INFR+SEC). CAA has notified all the airlines to comply with the updated policy via the latest notification. The notification further explains that the decision was made in order to facilitate the passengers with respect to the current instability of the local currency as against the USD. With the updated policy, international passengers would have to pay a fixed amount to avoid any inconvenience of the exchange rate issue.
