Effects of Global Warming on the Economy of a Country

Effect of global warming on the economy of a country

Ever wonder what effect global warming might create on the economy of the world. When studied by Stanford University researchers in California, turned out a unique map of global economies.

Countries that became hotter because of environmental damages were recorded with a massive decline in Per Capita. Whereas, cool weather countries had better production potential, happy and pretty content lifestyle, calm people and richer economy.

Co-author Professor Marshall Burke, from the Department of Earth System Science at Stanford University, is studying the phenomena from 1961-2010. Around 20 climate change models were used with 20,000 calculation variations to measure the variance in the weather of 165 countries.

The results found that the gap between the progress rate of richer and poor countries is 25%. This gap could shrink many folds in the absence of global warming.

The study also depicted the strong impact of weather conditions on the working potential of the nations. Countries with cool weather have more productive and calm human resource, compared to hot countries with short tempers and lethargy limits the working potential.

India (world’s 5fth biggest economy to be) had 31% lower per capita, caused by global warming.
