Katy Perry announced the title and artwork of her new single, Never Really Over. This Friday (May 31) Katy will release the song, and you can now pre-save it on streaming platforms.
After weeks of speculation, Katy Perry confirmed that her fifth album era will begin on May 31 with the arrival of “Never Really Over.” This morning (May 28) she unveiled the cover art on social media and one can see the “Roar” pop star rocking a long, tangerine wig and matching make-up.
It will be Katy’s first solo release in the past two years. Perry’s last album was Witness released in 2017, featuring songs like “Chained to the Rhythm,” and her last release of the U.S. single, “Save as Draft,” nearly two years ago.
Since then, she has been busy with her role as a judge on American Idol, but this month, the series wrapped up. Perry took the stage with Daddy Yankee to play a remix of his song, “Con Calma,” during the finale.
Further details about the song were not included in Perry’s announcement, although fans have speculated that the song is a collaboration with electronic music producers Zedd and Dreamlab, and could possibly serve as the leading single for her upcoming studio album.
So far during her career, Katy Perry has scored 5 UK Number 1 singles, 26 Top 40 hits, and 3 chart-topping albums.
For additional comments or details about the song, a Perry spokesperson could not be reached at press time.
