Bolt Mobility, a Miami Beach-based e-scooter company founded in 2018, announced its national launch to Fort Lauderdale, Alexandria and Arlington, and Virginia, with additional plans for Miami, Atlanta, Nashville, and Los Angeles.
Former sprinter serves as a brand ambassador and investor of the company. Other investors include Miami venture capital firm Rokk3r Fuel ExO and Yucaipa Companies, an investment firm from California.
According to a press release, each scooter is equipped with swappable batteries, space for shopping bags, purses and backpacks, phone chargers, cup holders and parallel footpads that allow riders to ride with their feet placed on each side of the scooter. This design creates a “lower center of gravity for safer, more comfortable rides.”
In the expanding market, among several competitors like Lime, Bird, Tier, Flash, Voi, etc, the Co-Chief Executive Sarah Haynes denied the idea of launching the product quite late. She claimed that having the right product is what matters and Bolt’s celebrity status will help the product to stand out.
Bolt also showed his concerns over the increasing traffic problems in cities and air pollution caused by it. He shared his proud to be associated with Bolt Mobility as an investor and advisor.
According to the company’s mobile app, at least 80 scooters are available to ride in Atlanta.
