Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide Rs. 162 billion for Karachi

On Saturday, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan announced an estimated amount of Rs.162 Billion for the development of the port city and other facilities in Karachi.

Imran Khan stated over a meeting about the preparation of the special package with the collaboration of subsidies and private associations.

The proposed package is to facilitate over 18 projects including 10 schemes that involve the development of transportation and health services, road infrastructures, and sanitation matters.

Further, he stated that the package will also assist in development projects like Lyari Expressway and water conservation campaign in the city.

He is planning to launch a master plan for Karachi and wants to address all the issues regarding the expansion of the services in the city.  He emphasized on the importance of the master plan and expressed about adopting urbanization approach.

The relevant departments have already been ordered to prepare for the projects.

Further, he commented on the China Pakistan Economic Corridor and explained that it has nothing to do with the current development plan and package.

The Prime Minister also plans to lay down the foundation of a university in Hyderabad starting April 5th.

PM Imran also announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf will continue its project, ‘Ehsas’, and ‘Sehat Insaf Card’, to Sindh.

According to recent news, the Prime Minister also focused on improving the current climatic conditions through planting trees during his visit.
