The Ministry of Science and Tech demanded Rs. 3.6 billion which was later approved by the Senate Standing Committee after being informed about 49 projects under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the Financial year 2019-20
Further elaborated, the Ministry has demanded Rs. 2.364 billion for 30 new projects and Rs. 1.205 billion for 19 ongoing projects.
Mushtaq Ahmed and other parliamentary panels reviewed the request carefully and raised some concerns over the matter. However, the committee responded positively as the science and technology sector needs to be maintained and put on priority.
Yasmeen Massod as the Secretary of Science and Technology responded about the concerns of the parliamentary members on behalf of all the members of the Science and Tech sector. She explained that a number of cases have been already sent to FIA for inquiry but none of them have received any feedbacks in 15 years.
During the meeting, the committee discussed the recent conditions related to the Research and Development and other attached departments. The committee further directed HEC to resolve all these issues faced by B-Tech graduates.
The committee also praised the contribution of the experts and scientists in the field of nuclear technology and appealed everyone to invest in science and technology
The meeting was attended by many renowned representatives from PEC, HEC, NTC and other organizations.
